You lifted our hearts, Milo

He played the friar in the classic Romeo and Juliet. Joyceans will miss his Mr Bloom performance but he has left them with us to enjoy for ever.

You lifted our hearts, Milo

My own memory is of his performance on the Late Late Show, where he showcased the variety comic actor. One in particular, which we watched on our Bush black and white TV, ! showed Milo performing heart surgery on an invisible patient, struggling to get the thread in the needle, despite his constant licking. The patient woke up but was soon sent back to sleep with the belt of a mallet. I cried with laughter as Milo gave us his ‘panic look’! Thanks for the memory, Milo. I do hope that RTÉ will run some of these again.
