A hidden agenda?

I read Brian Daniels’ letter (‘Psychiatry doesn’t deserve its status’ on Tuesday).

A web search revealed that the organisation for which Daniels is a spokesman, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, is a ‘front’ for the Church of Scientology.

I am not familiar with the debates on the veracity of psychiatry (nor am I aware such a debate exists), but it is important that all parties declare their interests.

Such a declaration is needed in order to establish whether the Citizens Commission on Human Rights concerns are valid or whether they a religious group dressing up their theology as science, much the way that some creationist groups pass off ‘intelligent design’ as a science.
