Drug profits sky-‘high’

I went to a pharmacy to purchase flu pills.

Drug profits sky-‘high’

I don’t go to the doctor, because I will get a prescription for a cheap, generic drug that is useless. The pharmacist said this everyday pill was restricted. I said I didn’t want morphine, just a painkiller, which is on sale at half the price in every chemist in the UK. I was about to leave when she took the pills from under the counter, and the ‘drug deal’ was done.

I laughed to myself. I felt as if I was an addict who had scored down a lane-way, except that would have been much cheaper. We are being screwed by sky-high health costs for little pills that cost nothing to make. To justify these profits, they pretend we are getting a restricted magic pill. Notice pharmacies sprouting up all over the place?
