Respecting democracy

It has taken smaller countries such as Cyprus and Iceland to stand up to the bully boys of Europe, including the ECB and IMF.

It is unfortunate that the members of the Oireachtas failed to “represent the interests of the people of Ireland”. Instead they choose to kiss the backsides of their European “masters”. What can be expected when people elect “failed” solicitors and teachers to run a country? Shame on all of those politicians who failed to respect democracy and give the people a vote on the bank bailout. Well done Cyprus and Iceland, where democracy was respected.
