1916 Rising book

As an author of several books on 1916, I’m seeking your readers’ help in researching my next effort.

1916 Rising book

I am lucky to have access to what is probably the only diary of Easter Week 1916 written by an active Volunteer under fire, and I am researching the author, with a view to featuring his diary in a book to be published by Mercier Press.

He was Seosamh de Brun, a member of B Company, 2nd Battalion, Dublin Brigade, who served in Jacob’s factory.

Born about 1884, and a carpenter by trade, he also used the name Joseph Brown, and when he made a submission to the Bureau of Military History in the 1940s, gave his address as Irishtown Road, Sandymount, Dublin.

I can be contacted by email at 1916@zeebeck.com, or by post c/o Mercier Press in Blackrock, Cork.
