Thankful for Pope Benedict’s gentleness

While Catholics are sad at the resignation of Pope Benedict, we are delighted that he left with such dignity.

His quiet, intellectual, gentle approach enormously enhanced the office of Pope.

One will never forget the images of millions of young people being so inspired by the Pope’s timeless message during the World Youth Day in Madrid. Likewise, Benedict’s meetings with victims of clerical abuse were a sign of the greatness of the man. This is attested to by the victims themselves, particularly those he met in Malta.

Thank you, Pope Benedict, and enjoy your retirement.
