Protesters more resolved after ‘spoof’ bank deal

Today’s protest organised by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) is going ahead despite the best efforts of the Fine Gael/Labour Party sell-outs to sabotage it by spoofing that they have a fabulous deal and ‘sure, things will be alright from now on.’

Sadly, some people are falling for this.

Some people in my office are saying ‘ah, sure, haven’t we made great progress overnight?’ and they, no doubt, are not the only ones saying and thinking this. !

Thankfully, there are people who see through this tripe, including David McWilliams, who was one of the few economists to warn of 2008’s crash.

The events of Wednesday night and the ‘deal’ on the promissory note will boost the already big numbers who will attend on Saturday.

Our aim is to show the people the Government’s spin job.

Regardless of the ECB agreement, all of the cuts and tax rises are still going ahead.

The reaction on Facebook and on the internet is mostly hostile and negative regarding the ‘deal’, because people can see the Government is trying to pull the wool over their eyes yet again.
