Tomorrow morning sees France’s president François Hollande in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where he will take questions and debate issues with MEPs.

Gay Mitchell, Fine Gael Dublin MEP and a former minister for European affairs, wants the Socialist president to put it up to David Cameron, the Tory British prime minister. “I hope he will be crystal clear in putting an alternative view so a balanced and informed debate can take place,” he said.
