We have no say because we’re told what to do

Anything to do with life or death in this country is moralised and controlled by fundamentalists, who have one view and expect the rest of us to agree with it.

We have no say because we’re told what to do

Whether it is abortion or euthanasia, the story is always the same — the Church and State must decide. People battered with morals that are not their own, but are the dictates of somebody else, cannot make individual choices. Society is not entitled to dictate to the individual in a totalitarian fashion, if we are to believe that we are living in a democracy. The substantive rights of individuals must be maintained, otherwise we will all end up living in a prison, if we aren’t already, with rules everywhere and no freedom.
