Lack of democracy

Once again with recent voting on the budget we have seen a complete lack of democracy in the Dáil.

The people of this country voted for politicians who stood on the doorsteps and made offers of what they would do if elected to the Dáil.

Once elected the TDs ignore the views/opinions of constituents and vote along “party lines” under threat of expulsion from the party.

Where is the democracy? Unfortunately, once elected politicians cannot be held accountable or responsible for their actions until next election. A sad reflection on our so-called democracy.
