No, all is not forgiven for Fianna Fáil Government

Michael Clifford has surely done for us all now (Opinion, Dec 15).

He could at least have warned us, prepared us gently, cossetted us a little to make it through the ‘festive’ (?) season, before delivering his killer blow.

Without worthy warning he blithely clarions the ultimate death-knell dagger comment “Come back Fianna Fáil, all is forgiven”, in his recent column. Such abject defeatism is a devastation too far. What a depressing prospect for a nation under deathly duress. Sadly, Clifford’s commentary is all oh so true, but calling for re-instatement of Fianna Fáil — no matter how bad things are, we could hardly be that hard up.
