Generous donation by Walsh would be welcomed

Louis Walsh tumbled like a showman from the High Court this week into the embrace of waiting media and described in great and vivid detail the pain, anguish and distress he endured when his character and reputation was egregiously undermined. His pain from loss, humiliation and deprivation was palpable.

Generous donation by Walsh would be welcomed

Mr Walsh seems to value the sympathy, admiration and acclamation of the public, but would his grounds for earning this not be immeasurably enhanced were he to empathise with the tens of thousands of suffering people who have no media waiting to hear their personal stories of distress, or their compelling accounts of rejection, poverty, despair and betrayal?

He could make an immense difference this Christmas to their contentment with a flourish of generosity by donating the €500,000 compensation he was awarded to a noble and credible charity, such as St Vincent de Paul, without diluting the outcome that this substantial sum of money is intended to compensate for.
