When a neighbour tells you that you’re delusional it’s usually time to listen.

Yesterday the Financial Times, hardly a nest of bristling Marxists, pointed to the behaviour of former Irish bank chiefs who, despite the carnage they have inflicted on the rest of us, still enjoy spectacular pensions. The FT wrote about the pathetic responses to the pathetic request to these people that they should surrender a proportion of their spectacular incomes.

It is difficult for the great majority of people to accept that those whose careers did so much damage to this country should be so rewarded but it may be easier to understand why the issue is the subject of a plea rather than a diktat.
