Misinformed referendum view
The proposed new article says nothing about education rights; it does enhance children's rights, the State being obliged to vindicate those rights.
The Sinnott case was based on the existing provision which obliges the State to provide for education for the nation’s children, that provision will remain.
Ms Scannell wrote of the ‘revelation’ by Ms Sinnott on radio — it was no such thing, it was merely an opinion and not a very well informed one at that.
Ms Scannell wrote of ‘the childcare buisness’, those who open their homes and hearts to children in need of care and protection, namely foster parents. She implied that these are in the business of financial gain.
Such a malign view is indicative of the shrill and misinformed view being peddled by those opposed to this referendum.
