To put it another way, that equals more than €1 billion in three years. At the top rate of income tax, the Government could collect nearly €150 million in additional revenue every year.

Lottery winners are not poor millionaires. They have a social obligation to help people who are less fortunate. The prosperity of a few should not mean the poverty of many.
