Spend those bondholder billions on job creation

I would like to inform Thomas Ryan (Letters, Oct 5) that there is nothing extraordinary about Irish people calling for banks to lend to small and medium size businesses and others hoping to start up in self employment, while at the same time calling for no more taxpayers money to be flushed away on bondholders via the banks.

What is extraordinary, however, is despite the billions of euro we have already given to our so-called ‘pillar’ banks and Anglo over the last number of years, we have nothing to show for it because the banks still won’t lend.

From the very beginning, this has been all about us giving, and the bondholders taking.
