Budget scrutiny

The Programme for Government says: “We will open up the budget process to the full glare of public scrutiny in a way that restores confidence”.

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore TD said that “public discussion about what may or may not be in the budget is not helpful”, and that the only discussions which should take place should be “around the Cabinet table in Government.”
