And so, on Tuesday of last week, began a huge adventure off the south-west coast of Ireland for the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group aboard the Celtic Mist.

Patrick Lyne is a “marine mammal observer” but he had never seen a blue whale before. Suddenly there it was, both blue and whale, in the seas about 60 miles off Dursey Island.
