Tax conversion

Michael McGrath TD says (with a straight face) that he believes his party, Fianna Fáil, were wrong to commit the State to introduce a property tax.

Can he please tell us when he had this conversion on the road to Damascus?

If he is opposed to a property tax, why did he vote in favour of it in the Dáil in 2010 when it was proposed as part of the EU/IMF bailout?

And why did he stand as a candidate for the Fianna Fáil party, whose manifesto committed it to supporting the tax?
