Timely article

Ann O’Loughlin’s article is timely in its portrayal of yet more inept Irish Governmental policies to raise tax revenue for the exchequer.

Why is it that our ‘leaders’ are not raising proposals in the Oireachtas to tax Shell Oil at this current juncture, rather than proposing that struggling taxpayers pay 0.5% property tax rather than a 0.25% tax? It is disappointing and frustrating that common sense seems to be always the last recourse for our cowardly and beleaguered politicians.
