Warship invite

At the risk of party-pooping, has any journalist or editor asked why a supposedly neutral country should invite a US military warship to dock in Dublin and for its sailors to be allowed free access to roam our streets?

The Fort McHenry warship has been involved in countless US military operations throughout the world.

No doubt the invite is for the same reason that the Irish Government actively supports aggressive US wars abroad, allowing over two million armed US troops (approximately 5,000 weekly) and rendition flights to pass through Shannon Airport since 2001.
