Origin of food must be labelled

As one of the many daily consumers of food in this country I am more and more concerned about the sources and the labelling of food products for sale in Ireland.

Origin of food must be labelled

In my experience the labelling system currently in use is inadequate and does little to help the consumer identify the precise source of the item being consumed. On the contrary, the labelling, more often than not, serves to evade, confuse and on occasion to deceive.

I would be very keen to understand where what I am consuming, be it milk, cheese, fish, meat, eggs or honey, originates. Scant answers as to the origin of food products is not enough — identify it.
