Garda van security

I am extremely disappointed that the permanent high visibility garda presence of the high visibility garda van on the traffic island on O’Connell Street in Dublin, opposite the GPO, seems to have been only a temporary publicity stunt to give temporary reassurance to those of us who work around the area, as well as to shoppers and tourists.

It was a very good decision by the gardaí to have the high visibility Garda presence on O’Connell Street because we all felt safe for those few weeks and O’Connell Street stopped descending further into anarchy, chaos, disorder and lawlessness. Even if it was for just those short few weeks.
