Fighting the gender battle on empowering women

She appears to relish the thought of “hate-mail” and snubbings at parties, etc., as all part of the ‘cause-celebre’, and no doubt will be able to hack any and all invective coming her way.
The gender battle lines have thus been re-drawn, it seems, with passionate humanity (female-only brand) and maternal primacy as the main weapons for man’s re-construction.
One wonders wild and ponders pent, the myriad implied ‘snipe-and-snide’ volleys being released here.
The blunderbuss utterances of someone entrenched in their own very precious, rather comfortable milieu, would seem to decimate one full gender brigade, while asserting some patently righteous claims to influence and equality.
Perhaps, ‘it’s the way she tells them’.
Victoria White’s hyperbolic blatancy and hydraulic ‘genderisations’ does her perspective something of a disservice. The ‘fight against’ fades to ‘kite adrift’.
“How will things get better for mothers if there are so few mothers in positions of power, particularly in politics?”
The core to this dilemma lies in authentic job-share arrangements across the spectrum, ‘top-to-bottom’, ‘left-to-right’ and ‘inside-out’. This won’t happen. Not just because of intransigent male power-grabbing, but because of the all-pervasive “American turbo-capitalism” which has seeped inexorably to swamp the Irish social-psyche and burgeoniong wannabee ‘celebritism’. Perhaps it is essentially a re-assertion of independence from the global marketeering mentality and dog-eat-dog competitive mantras abounding which require recalibration to a more equitable, modern, relevant and innately Irish concept of family, community, society and governance of same.
Of course, this is only one ‘distorted’ view from the minority ranks of maleness who actually cherish child-rearing, influence-sharing and equality-earning. I wonder what others think?
