MacGill divergence

John McColgan (Aug 9) seems to be slightly at variance with Dr Elaine Byrne and your own Michael Clifford in his assessment of the annual Summer School in Glenties.

His being almost a permanent fixture there may well have blunted his judgement.

The only certainty about this gathering of the well heeled is that it has little in common with Patrick MacGill, the navvy poet who was a true champion of the dispossessed.
