Wasteful councils already get enough

It’s justice and common sense to exempt people from the household charge if they don’t use public facilities such as swimming pools, parks and libraries.

Wasteful councils already get enough

Many taxpayers don’t have children who receive third-level grants, yet their taxes fund such grants. Taxpayers contribute to the upkeep of their estates and pay for refuse. Many even volunteer to gather litter from their towns. Even the unemployed must pay to use council swimming pools! Readers must by now be asking why councils need more money! Indeed, why do we need councils at all? The least the councils can do for self-sufficient and socially useful tax payers is allow them free water.

Taxpayers have for too long subsidised financially wasteful governments, councils and recipients of council grants and housing. It’s already too much for taxpayers to have to bear the cost of useless politicians, national debt, bond holders and reckless insurance companies.
