Contrasting pictures would shake one’s faith
Images of the two Irelands graphically illustrated in the Irish Examiner on Wednesday Aug 1 shook my faltering faith in the system.
On the left, a woman struggling to feed her children in stark contrast to the woman on the right with Prada bag and designer gear, leaving Mountjoy prison where her ‘poor’ husband was incarcerated.
If the Quinns succeed, the children and grandchildren of the woman on the left will be forced to pay this debt so that the Quinns can continue to live in luxury.
With the help of the GAA and Fr Brian Darcy, this will probably come to pass.
Goldsmith’s words are as true today as in the 18th century — nothing changes.
