Delusions about the Church do it no good

While I admire some ‘foot-soldier’ priests, I do not like the institutional Roman Catholic Church, whose zealots are far from moral, and are given to weasel words and sabre-wrattling sentiments, such as those uttered by Leo O’Reilly, until recently the RC’s spokesperson on education, about demands to control public education in Ireland. I admire Diarmuid Martin, the archbishop of Dublin, for his realism. An unrealistic view of the Church, as advocated by Patricia Casey, brings discredit. She should attend MacGill and question Dr Martin, like others did last month. She will have to take her chances with ripostes from her peers.!
