Mortgage to Rent scheme is workable

Jim O’Sullivan (Letters, Jul 13) raises a very important point in relation to the recently launched Mortgage to Rent scheme.

The scheme involves people with severe mortgage difficulties becoming tenants in their home paying an affordable rent, rather than owner-occupiers.

This means they no longer have the threat of repossession hanging over them, and they are able to continue to be part of the community they know.
