Less of the gloomy news broadcasts

I am sick of the radio news announcing every hour our country’s desperate financial situation.

We do not need depressing monologues on the drop in the value of our houses and our children do not need the prevailing stress transmitted to them on their way to school.

To keep up to date with current affairs I watch the 9 o’clock news and read the newspaper, which can give some editorial context to the headlines. This constant undigested stream of grim information does not add anything to our daily lives, except extra gloom.

Could the broadcast media in Ireland please stop this.

The economic climate will be the same whether or not they remind us every hour, and I wish they wouldn’t.
