In her letter last Saturday, Caitríona McClean said that “the main reason that Mr Kenny is now the Taoiseach” was because of the “flawed system of reporting, the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)”.

This is an interesting theory. And here was me thinking that Mr Kenny was Taoiseach because 800,000 people voted for his party! She also blames this IFRS for the bank guarantee. This will be news to the rest of us who remember that the bank guarantee was implemented by Fianna Fáil, the party which she now says should be returned to government.
