Unwarranted attack on Mick Wallace

In 2003, Mick Wallace took a moral stance on the invasion of Iraq.

The protagonists of the war said there were weapons of mass destruction. We all know the way that turned out.

Mick Wallace stood on good moral principle and paid a very high price, both commercially and personally, for this principled stance for fairness and justice, possibly contributing to the position that he finds himself in today.

These people are the people that take calculated risks every day to create jobs. Without these people and their risk-taking we wouldn’t have an economy. How dare people be black and white and say “the law is the law” — if that is the case we are all guilty. Who among us hasn’t driven above the speed limit? This is an unwarranted attack on a man who feels so strongly about “real justice” that he stood for election to try and redress the many injustices in Irish society.
