Not enough money to pay for water meters
I’d say people would prefer to spend it on something else if they had it. How does water metering help anything right now? We need to fix the leaking pipes. Maybe the ECB will give us back some of our money to pay for that? Maybe they could pay for the pipes with the money we pump into German and French banks who lent to Anglo so they could lend to others?
Seems like Enda just brought up the water meters to get the media to stop asking about Denis O’Brien and Fine Gael.
It doesn’t make sense when the referendum is coming up either; people are angry enough. Maybe FG want a No vote? We haven’t a hope of meeting fiscal targets without IMF intervention and a restructuring of our ‘debt’ and ECB playing fair.
Perhaps it’s time to call on the IMF to intervene more strongly than simply pointing out the consequences of Government policy and the dire need to put spending power back in to the economy. The ECB and EC have vested interests and FG are just plain bad with sums and economically tone deaf. If there is a choice, they make the wrong one. There is a reason that Enda hasn’t that much experience in Government — he isn’t good at it.
