Conference woes

It was a disgrace that gardaí used pepper spray against protesters at the Labour Conference.

As a party member I was very disappointed with the undemocratic way the conference was run. The fact that two hours were taken up with a stage-managed TV debate is totally wrong — members will not accept this next year.

I support my branch colleague Tony McDermott’s comments on this and the need for urgent negotiations to end the Anglo promissory notes scandal. Comments attributed to a party official that the conference’s decision to end the sale of State assets will be ignored are also deplorable.
