An unfair burden

I am a mother.

I have three children and my husband and I want our children to have a decent future in this country. That future is being stolen from them.

I march, every week, with the Ballyhea protest group to voice my disgust at the fact that we are paying out huge amounts of money to bondholders while our services are being cut, our hospitals have too many people on trollies, our education system is being put under more and more pressure and we are living in an unfair and unequal society which sees vulnerable people hardest hit.

At the end of this month we are due to take €3.1bn out of the economy and destroy it. Why? As far as I am concerned, we are paying a debt that is not ours and in return we are being asked to take hit after hit. At what point do we say stop?

I will march again next Sunday in Ballyhea. I hope that many more will join me.
