Lucky to be alive after savage dog attack
The attack lasted 10 minutes, during which time I was knocked to the ground twice.
I kicked that dog so many times but to no avail. Eventually I was rescued by a man who beat the Alsatian with a stick.
I am indebted to him for saving my life.
What happened to me could so easily have been a child. In my mind there is a tragedy waiting to happen.
I’m glad it wasn’t my turn.
There’s no proper monitoring of the dog population in Cork City.
The authorities are keen enough to impose a licence fee on our canine friends but their responsibility doesn’t end there.
Furthermore, it’s a waste of time fining people whose dogs soil our footpaths when the right thing would be to provide ‘dog poo boxes around the city.
