No increase in Dublin Airport charges

Contrary to your report of Feb 13, which was based solely on a Ryanair press release, there will be no increase in airport charges at Dublin Airport this year.

No increase in Dublin Airport charges

While overall charges will remain flat for 2012, following consultation with airlines, Dublin Airport Authority has decided to alter the structure of its charges for this year. This has resulted in an immediate 8% reduction in winter prices, which will be offset by a 6% increase in summer pricing. The combination of these two changes means that there will be no increase whatsoever in airport charges at Dublin Airport for 2012. Dublin Airport’s charges are highly competitive and this has been confirmed by independent studies. Dublin Airport’s average maximum airport charge for this year is 14% lower than that levied in 2010 by comparable airports such as Stansted, Gatwick, Brussels, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Zurich, Vienna and Munich, and Oslo.

The construction cost of Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport was €600m and not €1.2bn as claimed by Ryanair in the article.
