Groundhog days ahead

At present we have a weak government and a weaker opposition.

In order for the Government to improve we need an opposition that could unite to form an alternative government. Instead we have Fianna Fáil who are inept, Sinn Féin who are counterproductive and 17 independents who are interested in local issues. The weakness and failures of the opposition parties as displayed in their prolonged unresponsiveness to their duty to work together is alarming. We can look forward to groundhog days for a long time to come. All TDs do agree, however, in claiming maximum expenses.
