UCC lecture apology

ON behalf of the UCC Centre for Global Development I wish to apologise to your readers who came to hear Mary Robinson’s talk on Climate Justice post Durban on Wednesday, January 18, only to be turned away because there was not sufficient space for them in the lecture theatre.

We used our largest lecture theatre and unfortunately the size of audience exceeded our expectation.

Many of you suggested that we might have arranged for the lecture to be broadcast into another lecture theatre and I accept that we should have done that.

Unfortunately, it was too late to arrange this on the night. This will be done for all future lectures in our Global Challenges lecture series.

I appreciate that many of you travelled some distance to be there and I sincerely regret the inconvenience.
