Deserving of respect
Of course nobody could excuse those who abused children in their care, but I am thinking of the thousands of nuns, brothers and priests who looked after children given into their care. After the Famine, people in Ireland were impoverished, homeless and uneducated. Orders of nuns set up convents, hospitals and schools all over the country.
I feel sorry for nuns who gave up family, friends and their freedom and devoted their whole lives to educating and nursing everyone who needed it at little cost.
