The wrong attitude

IN a way having read your brilliant article by Colette Brown (Opinion, Dec 21), I’m not surprised at the attitudes of the men in question.

This is Ireland where the ”ah sure god help him” attitude when caught trying to buy sex from a guard prevails, and the same attitude prevails when the same kind of put-upon male gets caught for drunk-driving. If he is exposed as having hit his wife the attitude is “she probably deserved it”.

It’s an attitude of pity for the poor male trying to have a bit of ”fun” and sure, wouldn’t they leave him alone?
