Different set of rules for ordinary people

WHEN under investigation by the gardaí, people like Sean Fitzpatrick are treated differently.

Different set of rules for ordinary people

Do you think an ordinary Joe Soap would be arrested by appointment? A poor person would be dragged out of their beds at an unearthly hour whilst the Fitzpatricks of this country are treated with complete consideration.

Of course, let’s face it, this is just more optics. In Ireland, will any of those responsible for the collapse of our banking system and the dire consequences we are now experiencing be made accountable? The answer is no, for here it seems, you need have no fear of the law if you have money and the right political connections.

People like me and hundreds of thousands like me are expected to shut up, pay up, live in misery for years, watch our children emigrate and our elderly suffer as a result of recent tax hikes and cuts, all brought about as a result of criminal actions of bankers and politicians over the past decade.
