We will regret closure of our Vatican embassy

MANY Irish people are appalled at the Government’s planned closure of the Irish Embassy to the Holy See.

Justifying it on economic grounds is incredibly hypocritical and an insult to the Irish people’s intelligence.

The truth is that our esteemed Taoiseach and Minister for Foreign Affairs acted in an unrestrained manner. The Holy See’s measured reply revealed errors of fact in their statements. But they chose not to ameliorate them.
