Presidential win a boost for Irish language

MICHAEL D HIGGINS’s win has been yet another endorsement for our Irish language.

He was the only candidate able to speak Irish.

He will make a great ambassador for our culture, and I am sure will bring great dignity to the 2016 celebrations. We now have a Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Uachtaráin all fluent in our own language.

Future candidates please note, it seems just the “cúpla focal” may not be enough.
