Compromising position

ARTICLE 35.5 in the Constitution states that the “renumeration of a judge shall not be reduced during his continuance in office”.

Compromising position

If this article is included for the purpose of maintaining the independence of the judiciary then why doesn’t it also cover increasing the renumeration of a judge?

Surely the independence of the judiciary could be compromised either way?
