Making the wrong call on national anthem

BEFORE the Ireland v Russia rugby world cup match over the weekend, it was announced that the national anthem of Ireland was about to be played.

Making the wrong call on national anthem

Instead the band played the nauseous dirge, “Ireland’s Call”.

There, obviously, has been a plan to get rid of our national anthem, in two stages, the first being to play the two “anthems” together, and, secondly, to delete the genuine one.

Whose interests does this serve? Is Ireland, now, the only country, in the world, without a national anthem? Imagine what would happen if the same move was attempted with the French or English teams.
