Overhaul the Dáil

IF it is necessary to make adjustments to our constitution to enable a radical overhaul of the size of our Government and the number of TDs, senators and quangos, surely we should be making preparations by including the necessary provisions in a referendum.

Our Dáil is overstaffed because it takes far less voters for a candidate to win a seat in our Dáil than in any other EU country.

The total electorate of Ireland divided between the 166 TDs only averages about 20,000 per TD.
