Unfair criticism

ACCORDING to your recent editorial (Sept 17), it is some kind of slur against the Presidential campaign of Martin McGuinness that he was not born in “this republic”.

Firstly the article completely ignores the fact that anyone from the six counties has a right to participate in southern politics.

Secondly, the article ignores the fact that Mary McAleese was also born north of the border. It is criticism for criticism’s sake.
