Ignoring the evidence

I WOULD like to congratulate Jennifer Hough on her excellent report (News, Sept 7).

I and many others have been victims of psychotropic drug abuse. It is outrageous that the IMB ignores the actual experiences of those who have taken SSRIs while they rely so much on fees from the pharmaceutical industry. Many people worldwide have found that SSRIs can cause them serious harm, even suicide, yet the IMB completely ignore this evidence. When so-called scientific evidence is mostly funded by the pharmaceutical industry, how can people have good, effective medicines?
