I HAVE never read so many patronising and sometimes uninformed articles about the effects of the forthcoming demise of Bank of America in Carrick-on-Shannon from a mainly Dublin-based national media.

Whether one is on business, the arts or holiday, the town and its environs will have a genuine warm welcome for all. In 2013 Carrick-on-Shannon is celebrating the 400th anniversary of its charter, so please put that in your electronic calendars.
